Project Description:

  Indiana County Municipal Services Authority

Water Renovations IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, & IX

In the last 10 years Gibson-Thomas Engineering Co., Inc. has applied for and obtained $5.9 million dollars through FmHA (RUS), Pennvest, and Community Development Block Grants on behalf of the Indiana County Municipal Services Authority.  The resulting projects have extended 200,000 lf of lines throughout portions of Indiana County, constructed three (3) new water tanks and three (3) new pumping stations.  These projects service more than 1200 new customers for the Authority.  Gibson-Thomas Engineering Co., Inc. has also designed and managed the rehabilitation of major portions of the Indiana County Municipal Services Authority's existing system.  The recommended rehabilitation has helped lower the Authority's unaccounted for water loss from 40% to less than 15% system-wide.  Gibson-Thomas Engineering Co., Inc. is presently developing a new 700,000 gpd treatment plant and source of supply for the western part of the county, capable of serving approximately 1750 customers.
